Triumph Over Adversity is a digital series by Pasifika TOA featuring Victorian-based youth, of diverse backgrounds, who chose to share their real-life stories in order to raise social awareness, promote cultural understanding and support youth expression.
Moreover, amid a Covid affected world, Triumph Over Adversity is a youth outreach initiative that connects our youth and community together. All who participated in this series did so with the hope that their story may help others who may be going through similar experiences.

Pasifika TOA is a youth-focused not for profit company. Founded in August 2022, Pasifika TOA was inspired into existence as a result of youth sharing their life stories on social media.
A multicultural team comprising of lived and industry experience, the Pasifika TOA team acknowledges TOA meaning warrior in various languages. We also pioneer for TOA to mean Triumph Over Adversity which is the ideology behind our current Triumph Over Adversity (TOA) video project.
TOA features youth sharing part of their life stories in order to raise social awareness; strengthen cultural understanding and promote self-expression. These youth also reveal their strategies they used to overcome their adversities, also sharing a personal message in the hope of reaching out to others who may be experiencing similar adversities.
Presented as part of MAV’s Ahead of the Curve program.
