Visual Artist
Giovanna Da Silva is a Melbourne based visual artist working out of her studio on canvas and in the community through mural paintings. She migrated to Melbourne with her family at 6 years old from Rio de Janeiro, Brazil and she gains much influence and inspiration from her Brazilian heritage.
Always having a fond interest in the workings of nature, environmental conservation and global community she conveys an artistic style that is simplistic but a reflection of these themes through bold use of line work and natural tones. She has spent time travelling and painting in places including Spain, Brazil, Nepal and India where her love for how public art interacts with different communities was strengthened and through that she found inspiration and more direction in her own practice.
She has been involved in a number of group exhibitions in Melbourne as well as co-curating her own group show in 2019. Her biggest motivation for her craft is to brighten up the community and spread messages of awareness through each painting.
