Interdisciplinary Artist and Community Arts Cultural Development practitioner (CACD)
Grace Vanilau is a Naarm based Interdisciplinary artist and Community Arts Cultural Development practitioner (CACD) of Aotearoa Samoa heritage. She morphs between multiple storytelling forms; singing, spoken word/oratory, weaving, writing and movement. All while balancing motherhood, being nana and being part of numerous vibrant communities.
As a performance practitioner she has graced international stages in Noumea – Le Femmes Funk Festival, Festival du Cannes France, Pasifika Festival – Aotearoa and more recently @ the opening of the Sydney Bienalle 2020, The Nirin Haiveta Project.
As a CACD practitioner of 30 years, she specialises in producing and supporting the development of culturally nuanced programs for Melbourne’s Oceania Moana communities and nurturing intercultural knowledge share spaces, with the key purpose to mobilise, challenge and amplify community cultural practices through cre
