Jackie Sheppard will lead participants through a process of breathwork, meditation, visualization and movement that will help initiate a sense of belonging to oneself, a settling into the here and now, and a deepening of connection to stories that exist within us on a spiritual and DNA level. Maura García will lead participants through dance explorations grounded in the cultural values and stories that shape her movement vocabulary and choreography. Incorporating various ways of responding to creative prompts, her workshop includes exercises focusing on deep listening, breathing , speech, individual movement and group movement. Jackie and Maura will be exploring new concepts that arise as a result of their International Indigenous Cultural Exchange project. Additionally they will weave in techniques and theories from their individual practices and earlier workshops.
