Visual Artist and Community Arts Practitioner
Youbi Lee is a visual artist and community arts practitioner. She works in many different forms of visual art; such as printmaking, installation, video and performances. She has been initiating and facilitating visual arts workshops and collaborative community arts projects. She has developed strategic partnerships with 20 local organisations who support multiculturalism and co-created artworks with over 1,000 participants in Victoria. Her main works include Asylum Silk Roads partnership with 5 organisations and funded by Creative Victoria and Australia Council, Eastern series in Rainbow serpents festival, Melbourne fringe Festival and Obang, which has been selected as New Idea Lab in ArtPlay.

Playing with these themes, in webtoon (digital comic) format, the story involves a mother in Melbourne and her experience of homeschooling during the COVID-19 lockdown.

Omoon in the teapot is a short puppetry theatre video, playing with the concept of alter ego. Set in the olden days, a young peasant found a magic teapot which took him to his ideal world.
