Summayyah Sadiq-Ojibara, a Psychotherapist, Counsellor, Life Coach, Writer, Storyteller, Mindfulness Guide and Entrepreneur will facilitate this workshop and bring awareness to tools, skills and learnings around sustainable practices as an artist.

Whatever your art form, this workshop is sure to leave you with countless gems to take with you on your artists journey.

The workshop will cover themes and topics including;

  • The Notion of Emotion
  • The Creative's Burdens, Blessings and Bearings
  • The Imposter Syndromisation of The Self
  • Anti-hustle Culture
  • Rest Revolutionaries
  • Strategies and Sustainable Practices of Wellness and Wellbeing for Artists

A note from the facilitator, Summayyah;
"In this workshop, I will be engaging with you as a group and will also invite individual contributions; of thoughts, reflections, personal stories and experiences as they relate to and with the themes and topics being discussed. This will be done with gentle invitations, there is no compulsion or obligation to speak out or share, as I welcome presence in speech and silence as different forms of participation and contribution.

We will be mindful of contents that may be shared in the space which may be triggering and or cause some discomfort. If however any part of the programme does bring up difficult material for participants, efforts will be made to provide needed support.

I hope for us to have and be in a safe space, where we can each and together feel comfortable and catered for, where we can feel connected, heard and held, from where we can learn and leave with what is most meaningful, serving and fulfilling for each one of us."

This workshop is for creatives of colour living around Melbourne.

Our workshops are free to attend, but spaces are limited and bookings are essential so book your spot to explore the journey of Finding Emotional Sustainability in the Arts with Summayyah Sadiq-Ojibara.

Ahead of the Curve: Workshop Series is supported by The Victorian Department of Families, Fairness and Housing.
