Leadership for Community Organising

MAV (Multicultural Arts Victoria) is excited to partner with Community Coalition Victoria to offer the Leadership for Community Organising workshops. 

The Beginners Workshop this Saturday, 15 June will cover:

• Understanding what community organising is
• Practicing networking meetings or One on Ones
• Learning about different types of community relationships
• Understanding power in societies
• Writing your own personal narrative

The Intermediate Workshop on Saturday 29 July will cover: 

• Learning how to motivate community members
• Effective negotiation for groups
• Learning how to run an effective meeting
• Interactive role play scenario to test new skills

These workshops will provide training for community leaders with professional development to assist in effective community campaigns and strategising to create social change in your community.  

You are welcome to attend one or both days to suit your level of experience. Led by facilitators Denisse Sandoval, Nimo Hersi, and Danica Meas, this training will help build the skills of existing and emerging community leaders to mobilise community and make change. 

Scholarships
There is a limited number of free tickets available for people with an income under $80,000, Culturally and Linguistically Diverse (CALD) people who make an income under $80,000, and First Nations people.
