In 2023, we present the Legends of Common Ground, a showcase by the legends who have participated in Common Ground’s history. Local poetry enthusiasts are invited to participate via an open mic slot.

Common Ground was established in 2013 to create a space for young people from two faiths that are often religiously and racially vilified (Sikhism and Islam), to come together and use spoken word and poetry as a medium for dialogue, friendship and interaction.

It has since evolved to be a dedicated platform for diaspora community and local creatives to come together through a series of workshops and theatre performances around Victoria and interstate.

This will be a unique experience of multilingual poetry and spoken word.

A short interval will be held.

Warning: some content may be triggering for audience members. Please contact the event organisers for full details.

For enquiries, contact Common Ground Coordinator, Ajit Singh: ajit@mav.org.au

Legends of Common Ground is presented in partnership with City of Brimbank and Creative Victoria.
