Type
Performance

A deeply personal work inspired by Homsey’s connection to his Syrian and Cantonese migrant heritage, his parents desire for him to assimilate to the West and how cultural tensions against his Queerness have accumulated within his container, the physical body.

Psychic channel, tarot reader, and jazz singer Gala Hallelujah will use her gifts of channeling to create guidelines for the performance and soundtrack on the spot. This work is a love letter to reclaiming one’s identity and a meditation on what we can learn from past histories, from a particular space; intimate and stripped back, this is a deeply vulnerable look at the subtexts of one’s cultural conditioning and how overcoming archetypes leads to a new frontier, a new unknown of physical expression.
