Multicultural Arts Victoria and State Library Victoria is proud to present Art is a prayer – a performance-based installation by Tisna Sanjaya, one of Indonesia’s most prolific contemporary artists to celebrates the inaugural Asia-Pacific Triennial of Performing Arts (Asia TOPA)
The 58-year-old artist from Bandung, Indonesia combines visual and performing arts to express his concerns and raise awareness of social-political and environmental issues in Indonesia. Sanjaya’s work titled Art is a prayer is inspired by his research into the State Library’s collection, and embodies the connection between art, nature and humanity.
The installation will be on show at the State Library from Monday 27 February to Friday 3 March 2017 as part of the Asia TOPA program.
