Now in its sixth year, Mapping Melbourne is a platform for strengthening arts networks between contemporary independent artists across the Australasian region, building connections and establishing collaborative ongoing relationships, and presenting challenging work.
Each year we like to showcase an artist for the visual ID for Mapping Melbourne. This not only gives the event an exciting new look but it also provides another platform for artists to present their work to the wider public. Last year Kemal Ezedine’s brilliant Monster became an instant icon of the series and we are now inviting submissions for a design for Mapping Melbourne 2018.
The artwork should have individual elements that can be pulled out of the key visual and the final design would be supplied as vector files (AI or EPS). Go to the Multicultural Arts Victoria website for examples.
Artists should submit a draft concept and 4 examples of existing work with this application form. The successful applicant will feature across all marketing collateral and be paid a commission fee.
Examples from previous years:
Mapping Melbourne 2017 – Kemal Ezedine
Mapping Melbourne 2016 – Mimi Leung
Submission deadline: 5pm, Friday 4 May 2018
Applications should be submitted digitally to the Producer, Freyja Macfarlane via: freyja.macfarlane@multiculturalarts.com.au
