MULTICULTURAL ARTS VICTORIA (MAV) IS CURRENTLY INVITING VISUAL ARTISTS TO SUBMIT EXPRESSIONS OF INTEREST TO DESIGN THE VISUAL ID FOR EMERGE IN THE WEST 2019.

Emerge in the West is a platform for African Australian cultural practitioners to celebrate and engage with the broader community, now in its 7th year.

Emerge in the West Festival: Culture Conversations delves into the deep community connections and talents of the African communities centred around Footscray. From artistic expressions of issues at the forefront of Footscray’s development, grow conversations about cultural responses of change and continuity. Culture Conversations is a new incarnation of the beloved Emerge in the West Festival in Footscray.  Enjoy incredible talents of local African Australian artists in intimate local venues. Then deepen the conversation about the cultural evolution of the Nicholson St precinct; artists, community leaders, collectives and organisations will lead a discussion of cultural and artistic responses to issues to help shape the future of Emerge in the West.

SUBMISSION CRITERIA:

• Artwork should have individual elements that can be pulled out of the key visual and the final design would be supplied as vector files (AI or EPS only).
• Artists should submit a draft concept and 3 examples of existing work with this application form.

The successful applicant will feature across all marketing collateral and be paid a commission fee of $500.
