Jill Morgan AM to step down as MAV CEO

Dear Friends and Colleagues,

It is with mixed emotions that I write to you, on behalf of the Board of Multicultural Arts Victoria (MAV), to inform you that Jill Morgan AM has given notice of her resignation as CEO of Multicultural Arts Victoria after 15 years of service.

Jill has worked tirelessly in the multicultural arts sector and I know many of the artists and communities will be saddened by her departure. Jill has been a true champion for advancing the cause of multiculturalism in Australia. Her contributions have increased awareness of our artists and communities.

She strongly advocates that multiculturalism is a core value that defines what it means to be Australian and believes multicultural arts facilitates greater social inclusion, and powerfully creates a sense of belonging both individually and collectively.

Jill has worked for over 20 years in the field to ensure systemic change in the community and has made a real difference. She has been awarded an Order of Australia and a Sidney Myer Award for her outstanding work.

Jill’s legacy is one that supports both emerging and established culturally diverse artists and communities. The organisation and impressive program developed under Jill’s stewardship has given voice to many extraordinary artists and communities. MAV has partnered with key government, business, non-government, community and key creative industry leaders to ensure greater equity in the Arts.

Jill is leaving the organisation in a very strong position and I have no doubt she will continue to be a passionate advocate in the years ahead. Multicultural Arts Victoria is now widely recognised among funding partners and cultural institutions as a leading cultural organisation.

The Board is seeking to appoint an inspiring new CEO. Applications will close for this position on Thursday May 3rd 2018. The selection criteria and information pack is** here**.

Jill will depart MAV after completing a comprehensive handover to the new CEO. The Board and staff of MAV wish Jill every success in her future endeavours.
