We are currently seeking a dynamic and motivated individual to join our team as an Accounts Assistant.
Reporting directly to the Finance Manager, you will play a vital role in managing various accounting functions and supporting our finance team. If you have a strong foundation in accounting principles, excellent attention to detail, and a passion for delivering high-quality results, we want to hear from you.
Part-time position 0.4 FTE
Responsibilities:
- Handle end-to-end accounts payable and accounts receivable processes, including bill processing and invoice issuance.
- Reconcile bank and credit card transactions to ensure accuracy and completeness.
- Provide support in addressing general business and accounts-related inquiries from suppliers, customers, and stakeholders.
- Perform data entry and maintain accounting transactions with precision.
- Assist in resolving client queries, problems, and requests to ensure exceptional customer service.
- Collaborate on cross-functional activities, including administration, customer service, and projects.
- Support the monthly closing of accounts and participate in balance sheet reconciliations.
- Contribute to compliance areas such as superannuation contribution, tax, Workcover, insurance, and statutory reporting.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or a related field.
- Prior experience and/or solid knowledge of accounting practices.
- Proficient in Excel and familiar with accounting systems (experience with Xero preferred).
- Strong attention to detail with a focus on accuracy and efficiency.
- A team player with a positive attitude, committed to meeting objectives and deadlines while supporting colleagues.
- Willingness and eagerness to learn and grow in the role.
- Excellent communication skills to effectively collaborate with team members and stakeholders.
- Must be an Australian Citizen or Permanent Resident.
