Multicultural Arts Victoria has been selected as one of seven finalists in the City of Melbourne’s 2015 Melbourne Awards in the Contribution to Community by a Community Organisation category. MAV is honoured to be selected amongst an inspiring list of finalists including our partners who are finalists in the Contribution to Profile category including Melbourne Festival and Melbourne Fringe.

The Melbourne Awards are Melbourne city’s highest accolade, celebrating the inspirational Melburnians who dedicate their time and energy for the benefit of the city. Now in its 13th year, the Awards were introduced by the City of Melbourne to reward the outstanding achievements of organisations and individuals whose passion and commitment makes Melbourne such a unique place to live, visit and do business.

The Awards recognise significant achievements in the areas of Environmental Sustainability, Community and Profile — celebrating those who contribute to the social, economic and sustainable benefit of the city and enhance Melbourne’s reputation as one of the world’s most liveable cities.

Winners are selected through a comprehensive judging process which is designed to be fair, transparent and independent of the City of Melbourne. The judging process relies heavily on the generosity of an esteemed panel of honorary judges who are highly experienced and respected in their fields, representing a variety of industry sectors.

The 2015 Melbourne Awards program will culminate in the presentation of awards at the prestigious Gala Awards Ceremony at Melbourne Town Hall on Saturday 14 November, where finalists will be acknowledged and winners celebrated.
