In October and November 2019, Multicultural Arts Victoria will be collaborating with Melbourne-based Singaporean artist, facilitator and dramaturg, Jamie Lewis in an experimental, exploratory research process taking place in Shepparton, regional Victoria
Drawing on Shepparton as the ‘heart of the food bowl’, Jamie will spend time in residence to work towards curating an intercultural performance project that illuminates the role of women and food in the transmission, maintenance and development of culture in this regional town.
Jamie takes inspiration from her Singaporean-Eurasian heritage and looks forward to spending time with local women residents, artists and community members. You can participate in her research process fuelled by shared meals and cups of tea, and exchange stories, memories and aspirations for Shepparton.
