Multicultural Arts Victoria (MAV) and Gandel Philanthropy acknowledge the 2018 Emerge Cultural Ambassadors at the 2018 Emerge Big Gathering. The Emerge Ambassadors are an integral part of the Emerge Cultural Leadership Program.
Since its inception, Multicultural Arts Victoria’s Emerge program has cultivated strong relationships with community members, artists and cultural leaders, many of whom have contributed significantly to the success of the program.
Emerge Cultural Leadership is a unique initiative that acknowledges newly arrived, emerging culturally diverse, Indigenous artists and provides tangible opportunities for leadership and cross cultural sharing, celebration and connection with the wider community.
“MAV has played a big role in building my confidence, giving me support when I was so disillusioned and getting me recognized. I feel very privileged that I am one of their ambassadors and I am very proud to be associated with the organisation.”– Bushra Hasan, 2018 Emerge Cultural Ambassador
Through our Emerge Cultural Leadership program, MAV formally acknowledges many of the people who have unconditionally supported community, diversity and the arts in their local areas. The opportunity to be an Emerge Ambassador, is offered to a selected group of up to 10 people from four Emerge municipalities (outer north metro, Wyndham, Shepparton, Bendigo) for a 12 month period.
The Emerge Cultural Ambassadors will have unique opportunities to participate in our events and programs, to develop networks and skills, and to gain recognition and visibility through our media contacts and publicity platforms. They are our future cultural leaders.
MAV is honoured to work in partnership with Gandel Philanthropy to support emerging cultural leaders in the community.
