Out of the Park Picnic: Rhythm & Dance Call-Out

Are you a curator, dancer, drummer or choreographer with a knack for blending beats with movement?

FUSE – the City of Darebin’s contemporary, multi-arts festival – invites expressions of interest from curators, artists or artist groups to join us for Rhythm & Dance, a roaring, collaborative performance held during Out of the Park Picnic, the opening event of FUSE Autumn 2023.

We want your energy, colours, fabulousness, beats and moves to coalesce into an explosion of sound and movement.

We’re looking for drummers, percussionists, street performers, flagbearers, clapstick players, ribbon twirlers, soloists, ensembles, ringleaders, musicians and enthusiasts to join in the community fun as part of Rhythm & Dance.

You can bring an instrument, but it's not essential. Just bring yourself and your costume.

All levels are welcome, from beginner to expert.

Project Brief:

A collaborative mix of enthusiasts will perform together on the lawns of Edwardes Lake Park, during the FUSE Out of the Park Picnic event, Sunday March 12, 2023. Participation is voluntary, with lunch provided on the day.

  • Attend a production meeting/rehearsal.
  • Bring your full self to the event.

Please submit:

  • A short video of you/your group performing,

  • Tell us about yourself and why you love drums, movement, rhythm or percussion. We'd love to know what you can bring to the table, whether it’s instruments, special talents or ideas.
