2020 is and will continue to be an unusual year. Planning for events and gatherings to occur in 2020 is tentative but in the pursuit of positivity we are still conceptualising how we can go ahead with the final Mapping Melbourne in December this year.
So, that said, we would love to hear your ideas. We are not asking for a detailed EOI as we have in the past, we don’t want to create unnecessary work or burden for anyone, so we have kept the information fields brief.
Projects and ideas that are easily adaptable to venues and perhaps being a part of a combined project outcome (eg a shared space with multiple works/performances held in succession or simultaneously on the same day) may work best this year.
We are also very open to ideas that can have a life digitally (on the internet) given our current circumstances of physical distancing.
In order for the project/idea to be considered the outcome would have to take place in the City of Melbourne in December 2020, most likely the first week of December but this is TBC.
This is a call out for work which holds relevance to the theme of “contemporary Asia in Melbourne”.
Mapping Melbourne profiles established and emerging artists from across Asia and Australia with a focus on strengthening arts networks between contemporary independent artists across the Asian region, building connections and establishing collaborative ongoing relationships, and presenting challenging work. Learn more about Mapping Melbourne here.
MAV will be able to contribute a maximum of $5,000.00 to selected projects.
MAV will provide marketing and publicity for the festival and production assistance.
