As social justice protests grow in cities globally, I envision a world where love kindly yet loudly disrupts and leads the way: communities gather, connections are built, deep listening occurs, similarities are found, no stories go untold. And it is with the support of our motherlands and the ancestral spirits within our bodies and bones, we visibly express who we are and plant seeds for a new earth that is undeniably inclusive, celebrates diversity, and makes this world a better place. In achieving this storyline and visualisation, I featured early era photographs of ‘Melbourne’ by Australian wartime photographer, Frank Hurley, imagery of women of colour whom are the necessary voices for today, and Indigenous-inspired art to represent our direct connection to motherlands, spirit, and nature. - Melissa Tidah Him
