About To celebrate the launch of ILARUN, Amarantha Robinson has curated COILS & COMBS, an immersive Afro/Black and Curly/Brown hair event in Footscray on Saturday 10 November.
The event will include an Afro-pick making station, an Afro-cutting and care workshop, and a panel discussion on the intersection of hair, identity, and art. This community event is integral to the creative process and a vital part of the journey leading up to the play’s premiere.

About Future Reset – Maker Space is for young Deaf and Disabled people aged 18 – 25 at any skill level. Beginners welcome! This is a safe space for making art, socialising and creating community with your peers.
The exhibition features artists Ash Hem, Chloe Ford, Jan Heenan, Keiran, Megan Williams, Nina Fitzsimmons and Sarah Pekin. Curated by Teague Leigh.

Created by and for young Deaf and Disabled artists, Future Reset – Maker Space is a free and accessible alternative to art school. It is a safe space for people to make art and meet new friends.
This is the artists’ first group exhibition as a collective. Presented in celebration of Arts Access Victoria’s 50th anniversary.

About Our friends at Next Wave have announced ‘ShareHouse: Studio Day + Exhbition’: inviting you into their home, Brunswick Mechanics Institute, for community-led workshops, performances, and conversations.
Curated Next Wave’s Young Artistic Director – Banda – Saturday will feature a still-life drawing class by Charlie Taylor, lunch catered by sogobri and a panel talk exploring the relationship between artists and community. Followed by a collaborative reflective writing workshop with facilitator Adele D’Souza.
The Sunday portion of the two-day event will be an “Open House” at Brunswick Mechanics Institute, welcoming everyone in, to explore the space. Highlights include art pieces by local artists being raffled off, local foods, and a live performance by the neo-soul jazz band - Lord Knows. Plus, you can challenge a friend to a chess game, search through our open library or get your free professional headshots taken...
