The Artist as the Fundraiser

FREE Workshop

with Creative Australia

Saturday, 15 March 2025
1PM - 4PM
No cost. Bookings essential.

The Artist as Fundraiser is a free 3 hour fundraising workshop that is ideal for artists, producers and collectives looking to boost their knowledge, skills and confidence to strategically build supporter relationships and grow income

Artists need funding to create their work, but where can they find it? While grants are an option, they often need to be supplemented to ensure sufficient funds for an artist’s needs. The Art of Fundraising workshop, facilitated by Steven Richardson from Creative Australia, will introduce various strategies to help you get the resources you need. This session is designed for independent artists, creative professionals running arts organisations, and community groups seeking to amplify their fundraising efforts.

Workshop topics

  • Case for support: building a compelling story

  • Fundraising readiness: building your base camp for fundraising success

  • Asking: it’s not as scary as you might think

  • Individual giving strategy: never forget, its people that give

  • Leveraging: double your money, double your fun!

  • Australian Cultural Fund: architecture for success

  • Trusts and Foundations strategy: 'to know one Trust and Foundation is to know one Trust and Foundation'
