Meet Damon Paraha, aka Nomad222, a dynamic force in the hip-hop scene and a passionate advocate for Pasifika community in West Melbourne, particularly Wyndham.
Nomad's journey from being a hip-hop artist to an event producer and workshop designer has been fueled by his dedication to empowering young talents and filling the void of accessible music programs in the Western suburbs.
The Be Free Workshops were born out of the pressing need for music education and opportunities for aspiring artists in Wyndham and the greater Western suburbs. Inspired by his own experiences and the lack of recurring music programs post-high school, Nomad is determined to create a space where young musicians can thrive and explore their passions freely.
The team enlisted talents local producer & engineer Iconic Beats to lay down the incredible vocals of the first cohort.

This transformative program, led by Nomad, Vina and the Afro-Pasifika Youth in Werribee and Tarneit, is designed to develop skills in Hip Hop and RnB music production. But it's more than just workshops; it's a journey of self-discovery and artistic growth.
Nomad believes that music is a powerful medium for self-expression and community connection, and the Be Free Workshop aims to unlock the hidden talents and potential within each participant.
From May 2023 to June 2024, the Be Free Workshop will engage with local schools and youth groups, offering hands-on sessions, mentorship, and opportunities to collaborate with industry professionals.
Nomad envisions a process where young artists not only learn technical skills but also gain confidence, build networks, and find their unique voice in the music industry.
